Munich, Germany – Bayern Munich defender Breno has been charged with aggravated arson by German prosecutors after the villa that he rented burnt down last year.
The charge was announced on Wednesday and it carries a possible prison sentence of between one and 15 years.
Breno was arrested last September after his villa caught fire, but he was released on bail with the help of Bayern. No indication was given as to when the case might go to trial.
The 22-year-old featured in 18 matches in all competitions for Bayern last term but has yet to take part in a first-team match this season for the club.
