Buffalo, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Bryan Little scored in a third straight game, Ondrej Pavelec made 19 saves and the Winnipeg Jets beat the Buffalo Sabres 2-1 on Wednesday.
Michael Frolik added a short-handed goal for the Jets, who have won the first two stops on their three-game road trip and three of five overall.
Chris Stewart scored in the third period and Jhonas Enroth stopped 24 shots for Buffalo, which had its win streak snapped at three games.
Stewart went five-hole on Pavelec on a breakaway to pull the Sabres within a goal at 5:30 of the third.
Pavelec then stopped Matt Moulson on a 2-on-1 with Tyler Ennis near the 10- minute mark to preserve the lead.
Little gathered a return cross-ice pass from Jacob Trouba and beat a screened Enroth on a power play to open the scoring at 3:41 of the first period. Little faked a shot to get Buffalo defenseman Tyson Strachan down before firing the puck from the left faceoff dot.
The Jets had no goals with the man advantage in seven consecutive games before converting twice in Tuesday's 4-2 win at Columbus.
Buffalo had a five-minute power play when Adam Lowry drilled Patrick Kaleta into the boards from behind with 5:54 to play in the second period. Not only did the Sabres struggle to generate chances, they surrendered a short-handed goal 14 seconds in.
Frolik picked up the puck off a turnover by defenseman Andre Benoit from behind the Buffalo net and put a backhander in off the Enroth's right arm on a wraparound.
"We couldn't get our power play going. We practiced it all week and it looked like we didn't at all," said Buffalo head coach Ted Nolan.
